Procedural skills (performance of techniques) belong to domains with varied complexity depending on the professional practice and patient needs, which are portrayed in the nursing intervention.Even though anxiety is beneficial in certain tasks, it can also interfere in the learning process.Nursing students, in general, experience stress and anxiety over the course of their education and training.This study's objective was to verify the potential influence of the presence of the evaluator or filming on the students' level of anxiety and performance in a simulated situation of clinical assessment.Therefore, the results are expected to: contribute to advancement in research in the field of nursing teaching; aid the identification of new assessment methods to promote comfort among students; and contribute to the optimization of human and financial resources in High Education Institutions.
